First baseman Derek Long (Jefferson City, Tenn.) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Scholar Athlete Award winner, as well as earning second team All-SAC honors. Pitcher Austin Bridgewater (Morristown, Tenn.) also earned second team All-SAC honors.

The Eagles and Jaguars meet in for a four-game series beginning Friday at 3 p.m. Saturdays doubleheader begins at noon, while the series finale on Sunday is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch. All four games are at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta, Ga.

Three Eagles named to Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference Baseball Teams
ROCK HILL, S.C. Three Carson-Newman Eagles have been named to the 2010 Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference Baseball Teams, league officials announced Friday.
Senior first baseman Derek Long (Jefferson City, Tenn.) was a selected to the first team, while senior shortstop Mills Rogers (Simpsonville, S.C.) and junior outfielder Evan Patterson (Knoxville, Tenn.) were each named to the second team.

Jefferson City, TN- The Eagle Challange, a 12 event competition has come to a conclusion, with Team Elliott finishing in first place. The individual champion for the Iron Eagle Award will be announced at the start of the Spring semester.

Eagles Sign Four to National Letter of Intent
Carson Newman head baseball coach Tom Griffin announced the signing of four players to National Letters of Intent. Current high school seniors Evan Jurjevic, Trayce Rogers, Brandon Timmerman will join junior college transfer Lance Rorex for the 2010-2011 season.

Orange Jack O'Lanterns win fifth game of series and win overall runs scored title
Jeff Lockwood's grand slam in 6th inning helped the Orange Team to a 11-1 win in extra innings to decide the total runs scored in the series. The Blue Team had a 24-15 lead going into the 5th game, but the Orange won the overall score with a dramatic win in extra innings.

Blue Knighthawks take series with 9-1 win
JEFFERSON CITY, TN- Wes McIntyre picked up his second win of the series as the Blue Knighthawks pound out 10 hits and cruise to a 9-1 victory. With the win, the Knighthawks win the best of five series 3-1. Game 5 will be played to determine a second winner of the series, most runs score.
