Carson-Newman alum John Minor enters his 11th season as the head coach of the Eagles.

Minor has led the Eagles to two team appearances in the NCAA Division II national tournament and the Eagles have been ranked both regionally and nationally throughout his tenure.

Minor has coached a two-time SAC Player of the Year in Matthew Cram-Smith, who earned the honor in 2003 and 2004. He has also coached 20 All-SAC performers and two SAC Freshman of the Year honorees in Tanner Davis (2003) and Jonathan Kim-Moss (2011).

The Eagles' best year with Minor at the helm came in the 2004 season as C-N claimed its first-ever SAC Championship. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament, narrowly missing out on a chance to advance to the national championships.

Minor, a 1985 Carson-Newman graduate, was a two-sport athlete for the Eagles as he played both baseball and football. After graduating from C-N, Minor joined the professional ranks as a member of the Hooters Tour. He is recognized as one of the top golfers in the East Tennessee area.

Minor and his wife, Merri Lou, have two children; John Jr. and Madison, who both played golf at C-N. The Minors live in Dandridge.
