Eagles Fall to North Georgia, 8-1

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. - The Carson-Newman Eagles dropped a pair of tough doubles matches and never recovered in an 8-1 loss to visiting North Georgia on Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-8 overall and are 3-4 in South Atlantic Conference play.
Jack Harvie and John Borthick lost in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles, 9-8, while Giuseppe Schwarz and Rudolfo Schwarz fell 8-6 at No. 1 doubles leaving the Eagles in a tough hole.
Sophomore Thomas Slagle picked up the Eagles' only point of the day. The Knoxville, Tenn. native won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
C-N returns to action on April 14 against Union College.
