Time Change Announced For No. 8 Carson-Newman Women's Soccer SAC Match With Lenoir-Rhyne
Jefferson City, Tenn. - Due to the amount of rain dumped on East
Tennessee in the past 24 hours and for the welfare of the
student-athletes involved, the No. 8-ranked Carson-Newman College
Women's Soccer Team has pushed back the kickoff for its South
Atlantic Conference contest against Lenior-Rhyne University. The
match will now take place on Sunday night at 7:00 p.m., in
Jefferson City with the venue still to be determined.
Jefferson City received 3.24 inches of rain over the course of
Saturday, completely inundating McCown Field. A decision will be
made during the day Sunday whether to play the match at McCown
Field or to move the contest to Burke-Tarr Stadium, if the Lady
Eagle's home pitch is deemed unplayable.
C-N enters the match, it's first SAC contest of the year, 8-0-0
overall while L-R is 8-1-0 on the year with a 1-0-0 mark in league
play.
Sophomore Trenna Howell (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) leads the team with
five goals and an assist as the team has outscored their opponents
19-3 while the Bears have a scoring margin of 32-6.
