Carson-Newman's Trenna Howell Named South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman College's Trenna Howell has been
named South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week
league officials announced Tuesday. The sophomore forward is the
first Lady Eagle to receive weekly honors for the 2009 season.
Howell, an Oak Ridge, Tenn., native led C-N with two goals and an
assist last week as the team posted a 2-0 record in SAC play.
Wednesday against Tusculum, Howell scored the first goal of the
match and assisted on the Lady Eagles' third score that put the
match out of reach for the Pioneers.
Saturday, Howell led the contest against Mars Hill off with a goal
in the 41st minute, as C-N posted the 3-0 shutout on the night.
Howell leads the Lady Eagles with eight goals, 19 points and six
match-winners on the season and has also tallied three assists.
Carson-Newman, currently ranked seventh in the nation by the
NSCAA, is 11-0-0 on the season with a 3-0-0 mark in SAC matches.
The Lady Eagles are also amidst the longest win streak in school
history.
The South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week is
selected by the staff of the league office.
