Carson-Newman’s Howell, Tompkins named All-SAC
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Carson-Newman senior forward Trenna Howell (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) has been named first team All-South Atlantic Conference, and sophomore keeper Sarah Tomkins (Franklin, Wis.) has been named second team All-SAC for the 2011 season, the conference announced on Thursday.

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Carson-Newman Lady Eagles held Mars Hill scoreless for over 80 minutes and senior Trenna Howell scored her 10th goal of the season as C-N beat Mars Hill, 3-1, on Saturday night in Mars Hill, N.C Mars Hill fell to 6-9-1 on the year and 2-6 in the SAC. The Eagles improved to 5-8-1 on the season and 2-4-1 in the league.

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team limited Carson-Newman to just five shots Wednesday afternoon en route to a 2-1 non-conference victory over the Lady Eagles at the Jeff May Complex. Lander improves to 10-2-1 overall, while Carson-Newman drops to 3-7-1.

Catawba knocks off Lady Eagles, 2-0
SALISBURY, NC -- Alyssa Retundie (Mooresville, NC/Lake Norman HS) converted a penalty kick in the 49th minute to help lift Catawba 2-0 over Carson-Newman Saturday night at Frock Field for its initial South Atlantic Conference victory of the 2011 season. The Lady Indians better their record to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in the SAC, the Eagles drop to 3-6-1 and 1-3-1.

The Lady Eagles were scheduled to host Milligan College at 7 p.m., but the match has been postponed due to heavy rains in the forecast throughout the day. A makeup date has not been announced.

Three Lady Eagles named to Preseason All-SAC Teams; C-N picked to finish fourth
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Second-year head coach Carol Bonnes and the Carson-Newman Lady Eagle women’s soccer team is picked to finish fourth in the 2011 South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, , the league announced on Thursday. The Lady Eagles received 72 points and a first-place vote in the poll after sharing the SAC regular season title with Lenoir-Rhyne last season.

Lady Eagles report for fall camp under second year head coach Carol Bonnes
JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The defending South Atlantic Conference champion Carson-Newman Lady Eagles women’s soccer team took to the field for the first time in 2011 with a Monday morning fitness test and afternoon practice. After a year in which C-N won a share of the SAC title despite finishing the season with only 12 healthy players, C-N head coach Carol Bonnes had 25 report over the weekend for fall camp.
