Four Lady Eagles Named to SAC All-Tournament Team
ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Carson-Newman softball team had four players selected to the 2010 South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament team. First baseman Sara Little (Calhoun, Ga.), shortstop Jessie Howard (Knoxville, Tenn.), pitcher Mary Shealy (Clinton, S.C.) and outfielder Whitney Durham were named to the All-Tournament team after leading the Lady Eagles to a second-place finish in the tournament last weekend.

Wingate, N.C. — The 22nd-ranked Carson-Newman Lady Eagles defeated Newberry College 4-1 on day two of the 2010 Food Lion SAC softball tournament at the WU Softball complex. The Eagles improve to 35-8 on the season, and remain in the winner's bracket, returning to action Saturday. Newberry falls to 30-12 overall and will return to action Friday afternoon.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- A lineup card was the difference in game two of the NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Super Regional. Top-ranked North Georgia was credited with a 1-0 win over visiting Carson-Newman on Saturday afternoon in Dahlonega, Georgia, but not until after C-N had tied the game at 1-1 and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh, only to see the run stripped from the board.
