Carson-Newman's Jasmine Clark Named South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman College's Jasmine Clark has been named South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday. It is the second straight week that a Lady Eagle has earned conference honors.

"Jasmine entered this week determined to improve," said C-N Head Coach Shannon Mincey. "She has worked hard and her team has pushed her to excel. It was nice to see her play with confidence, relax and smile. She is a very talented young lady with a lot of respect for the game."

Clark, who wins the award for the first time in her career, led C-N to three SAC victories last week as she posted a .468 (37-6-77) hitting percentage and added 15 blocks.

The freshman from Pelham, Ala., tied her career-high for kills with 15 at Brevard Saturday and blocks with eight on Friday against Lenoir-Rhyne.

The Lady Eagles are currently 11-5 on the season with a 5-1 mark in league play.

The SAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week award was given to Lauren Kiwacka (Tripp City, Ohio) of Lincoln Memorial University.

The SAC Volleyball Player and Specialist of the Week are voted on by the staff of the SAC league office.
